Whats going on?

The server and the forum go down, for at least several hours, then when it comes back up and i try to log into the server it tells me its private. What is going on?

I got the same thing. It could be because they are doing some in game construction and don't want anyone else in the game at the moment. Or maybe they are setting up a whitelist thing, if there is too many people trying to join. I hope I'm able to log onto the server again, because I have a lot of hours of work I don't want to lose and the people on this server are pretty cool.

the map we were using got corrupted somehow and we were forced to start a new world. We are currently private to make sure it don't happen again, then we will go public in sometime. We also will have a whitelist.

Well that's a real bummer. People can actually corrupt servers? that's ridiculous. Do you know how long it will be, just a rough estimate, before you will be allowing players on?

People can't corrupt the server, it does it by itself and it is like a 1/100 chance on getting a corrupt map. Maybe 2-3 days before we will let players on.

Well actually another restart is fine for me. I was about to dump this server cause I died to non existing monster and lost lots and lots of wealth. Starting from the scratch, I won't feel the pain I am a bit behind.

While it may have "not existed", I'd be willing to bet it has nothing to do with the server and has to do with the client.

Take preventative measures next time, we have to deal with the still buggy beta client for some time now.

We are requiring the previous members to re-apply to filter out the inactive or people that left the server out.

Server is back up.
